Why the installer matters as much as the film
The same film can look invisible on one car and show lifted edges on another. Most PPF problems come from preparation, cutting and edge finishing, not from the film itself. These six questions help you compare quotes properly.
1. Which film brand, exactly?
Ask for the brand and the product line, and make sure it appears on your invoice. A good installer is happy to show you the roll.
2. Is the installer certified by that brand?
Manufacturer certification means the installer is trained and approved to apply that film, and that the warranty is backed by the manufacturer. Ask to see the certificate.
3. What does the warranty cover, for how long, and who backs it?
"Lifetime protection" means little without saying against what. Ask for the term, what it covers (yellowing, cracking, delamination) and who stands behind it. Our PPF carries a 12-year warranty against yellowing, cracking and delamination.
4. Is the film computer-cut or cut on the car?
Computer pre-cut patterns reduce the need to cut on your paint. Ask how edges are finished around lights, badges and sensors.
5. Where will the car be installed?
Film needs a controlled, clean environment to bond without trapped dust. Ask where and how your car will be worked on.
6. What aftercare do they give you?
Good installers explain the first week: no pressure washing, what is normal while the film settles, and how to report anything that does not look right. Ask how quickly they respond to issues.
